A university is a place where ideas grow and questions are welcomed. On a campus where diverse voices flow freely, student journalism serves as a guiding light, reflecting and shaping the discourse of the community. Freedom of expression is the foundation upon which campus media stands — and it is a value that every member of the academic community must strive to uphold.

There are times when sharp critique is necessary, and moments when uncomfortable truths must be confronted. Yet even then, the spirit of respect and a commitment to truth must guide our words. Freedom and responsibility are not opposing forces, but complementary ones. Together, they foster a healthy and constructive media culture.

When we protect freedom of expression, our university becomes a more vibrant and thoughtful space. And when we use that freedom responsibly, student journalism gains the power to enrich and elevate the entire community. Let us all respect and preserve this freedom — so it may continue to inspire dialogue, growth, and understanding on our campus.

Thank you for being part of that journey.

Sincerely,  chief editor Lee Ha-rin
