Even if you dont have a dream right

now, I hope this camp will be a chance to

learn a lot about yourself, such as what you

like and what you want to do. Good luck!

Cheongyang High School is located in Cheongyang, Chungcheong Province. First of all, the entire orientation was conducted in the multi-purpose room. All 43 students concentrated on me while I was explaining the purpose of the mentoringcamp ‘Key-um’ and introducing the camp process andteachers. ‘Key-um’ with Cheongyang high school students started.

# Before camping

‘Key-um’ team is a part of the ‘EducationalFoundation’, an organization of students’ selfgoverning bodies at KNUE. It is dedicated to planningand promoting the ‘Key-um’ camp. Key-um differsfrom other educational activities in that it is a ‘specificmentoring camp’ designed primarily to explorestudents’ interests and form specific career courses. The role of the general manager and the participatingteacher is clearly different. Some teachers take parting classes two times during this camp and the othersparticipate as assistants. The general manager does notattend the class directly but supports the class suchas recruiting teachers and preparing all the activities, giving feedbacks and so on. I have prepared the wholecourse of this camp as a team leader and a total manager.I was so excited and felt burdened due to anticipatingmeeting new mentees for five days as a total managerthat takes responsibility for the whole thing.

# Camp Process

The camp was divided into two classes of about 20students and 10 teachers. Ten programs by two teachersper class were progressed. After all daily programs, 1:2mentoring corner was opened. At 1:2 mentoring time, students and teachers had time to think about theircareers and future. Then, the Five-minute Speech, last program of the day, was preceded. It was themost memorable program for me. All the teachers andgenerals who were in that camp participated, and it wastime to give students advice or story mentors wantedto give based on their experiences. There are variousthemes such as ‘how to plan’ and ‘how to find a dream to be’. Before the speech, many teachers felt burdened. However, after the survey, I found that many mentorswere most satisfied and the students too.

# After camping

“Come again, this camp was different from other obvious camps. I’ve changed a lot through this camp.Thank you.” With words full of gratitude and regret from the mentees, the five-days of camp has been all done. We left Cheongyang High school and arrived at the campus of KNUE again. The faces of 43 students and 22 teachers at ‘Key-um’ camp are unforgettable. It was reassured and satisfied that the camp was completed without any big problems. At the same time, I regretted not approaching the students to talk with them more. Students started to establish their identities and think seriously about their dreams and career. I hope not only the students but also everyone who participated in this camp experienced themselves grow. I will never forget the time and memories of Cheongyang High school.
