[Vol. 76] Enforcing exchange and cooperation with other institutions
On the 29th of September, exchange sports games between KNUE and Korea University of Technology and Education, also known as KOREATECH, were held on KNUE campus. This event was intended to invigorate student exchanges between both universities, and the games were held based on the memorandum of understanding that both universities signed on September 19th. Therefore, about 100 students from KOREATECH visited and participated in various programs including basketball, dodgeball, soccer games, and club performances. There were also special performances by PLAY, KNUE’s cheerleading club, and a vocal group of KOREATECH.
KNUE is also strengthening cooperation with other institutions. Last September, the university made an agreement with Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation (KOEM) in order to facilitate cooperation in the marine environment sector, and with Inje University so that a free-semester system is carried out. Furthermore, on October 18th, KNUE and the Office for Northeast Asia of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) signed a general memorandum of understanding that will serve as the basis for developing and improving safety education programs for in-service teachers. In November, the university made agreements with Daegu Haany University, Khon Kaen University in Thailand, and Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education in order to facilitate cooperation.
