“The Prophet? You deserved to be lied to if you’re still reading that muck. You want the facts?, try The Quibbler.” Ted Tonks, who seems to be one of the devoted readers of our Quibbler, mentioned its name in the affectionate conversation with Dirk Cresswell, another gifted wizard from Hogwarts. If you’ve given up your right as a sincere reader and chosen to read the Daily Prophet, you would have read an article about Muggle-made hypotheses last month. But it only covered about Harry Potter and Albus Dumbldore, which clearly shows its inclination giving its importance to only celebrities. The Quibbler always provides all the details readers want to know! Here are some of the other Muggle-made hypotheses and recent lives of the people around our man with an honorable lightening scar on his forehead.
1. Ron Weasley & Hermione Granger, couple with adorable son and daughter
Their Wedding was one of the most spotlighted events among the Muggles. There are even lots of Muggle-made fanfictions which all commonly include description about frozen Weasley, quite similar to how his face had been on the big day. Hermione got their parents back in Australia and returned their memory after the Second Wizarding War ended. She also showed them their grandchildren, Rose and Hugo.
There is a weird hypothesis about Ron Weasley, which is known as “Rumbledore”, insisting that Weasley is a time traveler; aka Ron=Dumbledore”. It should just stay in Muggle’s imagination and not turn out to be true for Mrs.Granger, because the fact that Dumbledore was gay is quite obvious. The theory first originated with their common appearances like both being tall and thin, having a long nose and the scar above their left knees. Dumbledore’s auburn hair in his youth can be added, too. But here is the point that suddenly increases credibility on this theory. It is widely known that Dumbledore had never eaten Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans after trying a vomit flavored one in his youth. But surprisingly, Bertie Bott was born in 1935. Nobody could have eaten Every Flavor Beans until 1950’s, and Dumbledore was already over a hundred years old at that time. Even though youth is a relative term, can anybody refer to someone over a hundred years old as “in one’s youth”? In this viewpoint, Dumbledore himself holding a pair of thick, woolen socks standing in front of the Mirror of Erised now seems to have an implicative meaning. He said “It shows us nothing more or less than the deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts. Ronald Weasley, who has always been overshadowed by his brothers, sees himself standing alone, the best all of them” to Harry according to the interview. If Ron is indeed a time-traveling Dumbledore, he eventually became the best all of his brothers, still with a grief for the socks his mother always gave him.
2. Neville Longbottom, who could possibly have been another “Chosen one”
Some Muggles insisted a theory that Neville was the chosen one, not Harry Potter. It can be quite shocking just seeing his school years. He was a clumsy, shy and introverted boy constantly nagged by his grandmother that he was not living up to his parents’ accomplishment. However, he destroyed the seventh Horcrux which was the last when he faced Nagini. He also briefly served as an Auror after the Second Wizarding War and became Hogwart’s professor of Herbology. So who would dare say that he does not fulfill the conditions for being “The Chosen One”? Actually, he was another one fulfilling the prophecy which was broken in 1996, in the Hall of Prophecy within the Department of Mysteries: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches ... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies ... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not ... ". Neville’s parents had thrice defied him and he was born on July 30, which was just a day before Harry. He also had some troubles with her mother due to the torture that Voldemort gave and made her insane, which would be connected to the part of prophecy “Dark Lord will mark him as his equal”. About the power that Neville only knows? As mentioned above, his now herbology professor in Hogwarts. Or it might have been “the power of love” as same as in Harry’s case. However, the catastrophic part of this theory would be the idea that Dumbledore, who Harry mentally relied on most, deceived all the others including Voldemort and Harry himself to believe Harry as the “Chosen One” just to protect Neville. But who knows? Harry might have been able to lighten his burden that he is the only and last person who can save the wizarding world, if he was not the Chosen One and knew the fact before he’d grown up.
According to those theories, Ron Weasley, who always stood in the shadow of his brothers, became the greatest wizard in the century. Neville Longbottom, who always had been blamed not being up to the expectation due to his parents, became the “Chosen One” who even beat the Dark Lord. As you can see through these theories, you can all be the hero. It doesn’t’ matter how others see you, neither you are nagged by your grandma to be a useless person nor the surrounding people treat you less significant than to your brothers. You all can be a hero. Harry Potter didn’t save our wizarding world only on his own, but with all his friends and people who were beside him!
