Every day you wake up in the morning, drag yourself out of bed, and take a shower. You start to get ready to go out. Taking not only what the weather report says but the schedule and mood of each day, you choose which clothes to wear, which shoes to wear, and which bag to carry. Especially, you consider what COLOR you will take. And during daily life, as you choose color based on your mood, color conversely may affect on feeling as well. Upon better consideration, you can realize how they are related to each other. Like in the word ‘blue,’ which is one of the color-words that implies to be depressed and sad informally.
Then, how would one define color? Defined in general, color is the appearance of something as a result of the way it throws back light. But color can also be used to describe one’s condition or interest. If your friend tells you “You’ve got a bit of COLOR now,” it means you look a lot better today. If ‘something add COLOR’ to story, it means the story is made more interesting. This way, color has strong power consciously and unconsciously – power on how we see, perceive, and interact with the world.
Which colors do you like the most? One of the colors that people prefer the most is blue, regardless of whether they are men or women. Blue matches well in any season, in any cases. It is used for car from luxurious full-sized to smallish compact one. It also serves as the color for bedroom because blue calms oneself. Someone might like other colors – maybe green or red. There are different personal preferences, but the understanding of colors is general. The same color is bound to give similar impression. Therefore, some colourists come to design ‘personal color system’ that takes advantage of the impressing process to help people to impress favorably.
Personal color system is the process of analyzing and finding colors of makeup and clothing. It is used as an aid to style consulting to match a person’s skin complexion, eye color, and hair color. The color of the eyes and hair serve to heighten the appeal of certain color choices, but all such choices must be made from within the palette that is compatible with the shade of the skin. Therefore, mostly the analysis is based on each skin color. One of the most popular systems is ‘Seasonal Color Analysis’. It places individual coloring into four categories: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. It can be applied to limit wardrobe color choices, so that a person will probably find it easier to coordinate his or her clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories. You can easily apply it to daily choices every busy morning.
You can find which type you are in by looking at yourself in the mirror, especially your own skin color. (Girls, it does not mean when you finish makeup!) And try the suggested colors while making up, dressing, or choosing other items.
You correspond to ‘Spring’ if your skin is light amber with gold tones, golden beige or brown, ivory with pale golden freckles. The overall appearance of a Spring is radiance and glitter. It is suggested that palette colors for Spring are usually clear tints that have white and water added.
You are ‘Summer’ type if you are very pale or pale beige with delicate pink cheeks, transparent and fine-textured, light with a rosy-red lilac undertone. The overall look of a Summer is colorless. You may choose these complex palettes may have a blend of black, white, grey or brown added to their pure pigments, creating a wide range of subtle differences.
If your skin seems to be more gold and orange-toned, dark beige, you are ‘Autumn’ type. The palette that suggests to you is dominated by undertones of natural brown pigment, which may range from ochre, umber, or burnt sienna to browns darkened with black.
‘Winter’ type indicates that you have skin with cool and rose undertones, almost white with delicate pink, yet the skin will be a bit darker than the very pale skinned Summer. The palette suggested to you includes colors that are pure pigments with added black, or with so much white added as to create an icy, frosted pastel.
Some color psychologists, an extension of color analysis, claim that finding the right colors and applying it to daily looks can even remove pimple and blemish. But actually the psychological connotation of a color has nothing to do with its effect upon the color of one’s face or the results in the mirror. The thing is that it is necessary to consider both the physical impact color has upon your appearance, and the impact a color has upon the unique persona that one projects to the world.
Now tomorrow morning, when you wake up and dragging yourself out of bed, you come up with the power of color above. Thoughtlessly, you have passed by what the colors are crying toward you, but from now on you wouldn’t. Listen to what colors cry and feel the world through colors. Identify what type you are and COLOR YOU GORGEOUS.
